Other LMIA Exempt Work Permits – International Mobility Program (IMP)
Not all Canadian work permits require a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). The International Mobility Program (IMP) allows eligible foreign nationals to work in Canada without an LMIA under certain conditions.
Note: LMIA-exempt permits are designed to benefit Canada economically, culturally, and socially, while supporting international cooperation and Francophone communities.
- Under the IMP, foreign nationals may obtain a work permit without an LMIA if their employment:
- Provides a broader economic, cultural, or social benefit to Canada
- Creates reciprocal opportunities for Canadians abroad
- LMIA-exempt categories are designed to:
- Promote international cooperation
- Enhance Canada’s competitiveness
- Strengthen Canada’s Francophone and global presence
- JS Immigration Consulting Inc. assists both employers and candidates in:
- Identifying the most suitable LMIA-exempt category
- Ensuring applications are fully compliant with IRCC requirements
Our team at JS Immigration Consulting ensures that all LMIA-exempt work permit applications are prepared with accuracy and strategic guidance, helping both candidates and employers achieve successful results.
