To qualify, candidates must meet several key eligibility criteria.
Work Experience
- At least one year of continuous full-time work experience in a skilled occupation within the last ten years.
- Full-time work is defined as 30 hours per week or more, and part-time work can be combined to meet the requirement.
- Documentation such as employment letters, pay stubs, and contracts are necessary to verify experience.
Language Proficiency
- Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English or French.
- A minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 7 in:
- Speaking
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Recognized language tests include:
- IELTS, CELPIP, and Pearson (PTE Core) for English
- TEF Canada or TCF Canada for French
Educational Credentials
- Applicants must have Canadian or foreign educational credentials assessed for equivalency.
- Foreign credentials require an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to confirm equivalency to Canadian standards.
- This verification assures employers and immigration authorities of the applicant’s academic credibility and qualifications.
Proof of Funds
Unless the applicant has a valid job offer in Canada, proof of sufficient funds is required to support themselves and their dependents. The updated amounts as of July 7, 2025 are:
